Mu Sochua has accused the prime minister of calling her “cheung klang,” which means “strong legs,” in Khmer and is considered an insult. Mu Sochua promptly sued him for defamation in a Phnom Penh municipal court, demanding 500 Cambodian rials, or roughly 12 cents in damages along with an apology. Instead of apologizing, Hun Sen, who likes to go by the rather ungainly honorific “Samdach Akkak Moha Sena Padey Dekjo” promptly countersued.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Sunday afternoon announced that Cambodia has planed to withdraw part of its troops from the border areas with Thailand.
Hun Sen, the Cambodian prime minister, seems to enjoy baiting his neighbours. His recent decision to make Thaksin Shinawatra, Thailand’s fugitive former prime minister and de facto opposition leader, an adviser to his government has caused a spat that regularly sounds more playground squabble than sophisticated diplomacy.
“Millions of Thai people, the red shirts, support Thaksin [Shinawatra, ex-PM]. Why, as a friend, can’t I support Thaksin? Without the 2006 coup these things would not have happened,” said Hun Sen shortly after arriving in Cha-am for the annual Asean Summit.
